Architectural CAD Operator

TYPE: Full-Time

COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Burton Hersh Architects, PA is a boutique, award-winning design firm providing a wide scope of project typologies. The professional areas of practice include Architecture, Interior Design, Urban Design, Town Planning and Historic Preservation in both the public and private sector.

We are seeking an Architectural CAD Operator to join our firm.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents
  • Coordination with consultants

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 years of Architectural AutoCAD is required
  • Working knowledge of Florida Building Code and Florida Fire Prevention Code is required.
  • College degree preferred, but not required

Candidates not meeting the prerequisites need not apply.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.  Successful candidate may be included in company health insurance and retirement plan, subject to a probationary period. Some remote working may be accommodated.

Position:                                                         

We are looking for a talented and driven Interior Architect with great technical and design skills, an eye for detail and a passion for craft for great spaces and furniture. As an Interior Architect, you will be working directly with Principals, as they are the primary lead on projects, and collaboratively with the Team. You will be participating in a variety of tasks from developing Concept Design drawings to assisting in producing detailed Construction Document sets through FF+E and Purchasing. We want to grow our Interiors Department, so you will have the opportunity to gain professional growth within the company.

Expectations:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the process of Architecture and Interior Design
  • A strong design centered approach backed up with rigorous technical skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Extremely organized and very meticulous
  • Prepare and produce professional cohesive drawings and presentations
  • Coordinate with consultants and vendors
  • Work independently and willing to learn from peers alike

Requirements:

  • Accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture and/or Interior Design
  • Minimum 3-years of Interiors and Architecture background and experience
  • Experience working on Luxury Single-Family/Multi-family Residential, Hospitality, Commercial, Retail projects in all phases of design and of various budgets
  • FF+E Selection, Specification and Purchasing experience – Required
  • Produce CD Level ID Drawings – Required
  • Experienced in detailing, specification, and coordination of Interiors
  • Highly proficient in AutoCad and knowledge of digital organization of files – Revit a plus
  • Graphic skills required in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint)
  • Review and coordinate shop drawings
  • Some knowledge of 3D modeling software, i.e., SketchUp, Lumion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Minimum of 3-years of office experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (required)
  • Legal working status is in the United States (required)
  • Must be able to start within two weeks of hire

Manages multiple small/medium projects, coordinates all aspects of assigned projects, and estimates scope of work. Responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction. Actively manages client budgets, schedules, and programs; project communications and documentation; office administrative tasks; and project team assignments. Estimates fees, determines scope of work, and prepares proposals and contracts.

 

Applicant’s Requirements

4-6 years of relevant work experience

Architect Project Manager

Five Person firm with a unique opportunity for the appropriate candidate to join as the key, in office staff to assist the principal architect. We are seeking a full time architectural project manager, proficient in design development and construction document production utilizing AutoCAD and  Microsoft Office Suite; use of 3D modeling and Adobe Photoshop programs are a plus. Must be familiar with Florida Building Codes and local Zoning codes and applications.

A minimum of 4 years local experience in design, construction documents and construction administration in residential and light commercial/industrial projects is preferred. Must have good organizational skills and be a self-starter. Coordination with clients consultants and engineering firms.
