Call for Nominations: 2025 AIA Miami Hall of Fame

The Board of Directors of the Miami Chapter of the American Institute of Architects is pleased to announce a call for nominations for AIA Miami’s Hall of Fame Award as part of the 2025 Honors and Awards Program. The Nomination Submittal must be received no later than 5:00 P.M. Saturday, September 20, 2025. The Award will be presented at the AIA Miami Design Awards Celebration on October 24, 2025.

PURPOSE
The AIA Miami Hall of Fame Award recognizes individual architects for their career accomplishments, their
membership and support of AIA Miami, and their distinguished service to the community representing the ideals
of the profession.

ELIGIBILTY for AWARD

Nominee must have completed ten cumulative years of AIA membership prior to the nomination deadline.
Must have been part of three committees, task forces, or elected positions at the three AIA levels
(local, state, and national), or
Must have designed three buildings of exceptions architectural prominence. This to be determined by
the Board after a process of nominations and selection of projects, or
Must have written and published at least three books about architecture or have written and published
at least three articles of significance about architecture in a major publication
Awards shall only be given once a year and may be withheld in any year.

NOMINATIONS:
Nominations shall be made in one of two ways: by five AIA members, or by the Nominating Committee as outlined
below.

SELECTION and AWARD:
A jury composed of five AIA Miami members, three of which are previous Hall of Fame recipients, or AIA Miami
Fellows, and the current and past president. The jury shall consider all nominees equally with no discrimination
as to gender, race, religion, national origin, or sexual orientation. A three-quarters vote of the committee is
required to make an award.

NOMINATION SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Nominations must be submitted according to the criteria outlined below:

The nominator’s names and AIA membership numbers if nominated by five members
The nominee’s name, membership number, address, and phone with a photograph of the nominee suitable
for publication
A written statement about the nominee and their accomplishments summarizing why bestowing the Hall
of Fame Award upon the nominee fulfills the Awards purpose with sufficient documentation
Exhibits and/or examples illustrating the nominee’s accomplishments
