**DEADLINE EXTENSION JULY 27**

🐾PAWCHITECTURE DESIGN + BUILD

PAWchitecture, brought to you by the Miami Center for Architecture & Design and our partners, The Aventura Mall and the Humane Society of Greater Miami, is a design/build competition of original, one-of-a-kind pet furniture created by professional and student design teams. The built designs will be on display at Aventura Mall during October’s Celebrate Architecture & Design Month. All the homes will be available for silent auction through online bidding with proceeds going to the Greater Miami Humane Society and the Miami Center for Architecture & Design.

TEAMS

Twenty professional team slots and three student team slots are available for the 2022 PAWchitecture Competition and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Student teams must be from DASH or be members of AIAS. Teams shall register online at aiamiami.org

It's MEMBER MONDAY! Today we would like to highlight Lourdes Solera, FAIA.
AIA Florida 2022 President.

Lourdes Solera is a Principal at MCHarry & Associates, a third-generation owner of the 65 + year old architectural firm that specializes in public sector work. With 30+ years of professional practice, Lourdes' has experience in both private and public sectors.

She has been a dedicated leader at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for many years leading the institute in many positions and was elevated to the AIA College of Fellows in 2012. Lourdes was AIA Miami Chapter President in 2004, a member of the 2010 AIA National Convention steering committee, and served on the Florida Board of Architects and Interior Design (BOAID), the City of Miami Historic Preservation Board as well as Miami-Dade County’s Historic Preservation Board. Lourdes was an adjunct professor at Florida International University for many years.

Today she serves as the AIA Florida 2022 President. She is co-founder of AIA Miami’s Women in Architecture Committee and founder of AIA Florida’s Women in Architecture Committee.

It is with great pleasure that we introduced you @soflonoma's Project Pipeline Program!

Their mission with Project Pipeline Summer Camp is to empower young people to affect change in their community through design. Using the city as the classroom, and connecting young people to real world architects and planners, we foster the next generation of design professionals, civic leaders, and change-makers. We advocate for fellowship, equity, and excellence in design.

This year they are introducing their second class of Architecture + Design Justice Summer Camp. Information and Registration can be found on their website: www.soflonoma.org/project-pipeline.

The Camp will take Place August 4-7 at Soprema Inc.
