SUMMARY:Tecnoglass Lecture Series: Housing for All — Camilo Rebelo / Camilo Rebelo Architect - Landark (Portugal)
DESCRIPTION:Presented by the University of Miami School of Architecture. Earn 1.5 HSW/LU. \nHousing has become one of the defining questions of our time\, shaped by climate\, affordability\, migration\, density\, infrastructure\, identity\, and the fundamental human need to belong. Architecture is central to this conversation\, not simply as shelter\, but as a way of imagining how we live together. \nFor the second consecutive year\, the University of Miami School of Architecture continues its exploration of housing\, building on the fall 2025 tecnoglass lecture series. Housing for All approaches dwelling as a cultural\, social\, environmental\, and spatial question\, one that must continually evolve. \nThis fall\, five architectural practices from Colombia\, Switzerland\, the United Kingdom\, Portugal\, and Brazil bring distinct perspectives on how housing can respond to landscape\, climate\, materials\, culture\, and everyday life. \nTogether\, these five practices expand the conversation begun in 2025\, demonstrating that housing cannot be reduced to quantity\, efficiency\, or repetition. Housing is landscape. Housing is infrastructure. Housing is material\, memory\, climate\, intimacy\, and collective life. \nThe fall 2026 tecnoglass lecture series continues the school’s commitment to placing housing at the center of architectural discourse—not as a problem to be solved\, but as an enduring question that demands continual investigation. Housing for All is ultimately an invitation to imagine housing not simply as a unit to be produced\, but as a living framework for dignity\, belonging\, beauty\, and shared everyday life. \nDownload Event Poster [PDF]

SUMMARY:🌲 FIU’s 38th Annual Festival of the Trees - Save the Date!
DESCRIPTION:Join FIU for an evening celebrating design\, creativity\, and community at the 38th Annual Festival of the Trees\, benefiting students in FIU’s Interior Architecture Department. Each year\, South Florida designers and industry partners come together to showcase original abstract tree installations that capture the imagination and support the next generation of design leaders. Calling All Tree Designers. FIU invites South Florida architecture and design firms to participate as tree designers for this year’s theme: Chroma in Motion. Designers are encouraged to explore “chroma” as a driving force in design using shifts\, graduations\, and transitions of color to shape emotional experience and transform spatial atmosphere. You may collaborate with an existing sponsor\, or we can help match you with one that may be available. Sponsorship Opportunities: Become a sponsor and align your company with a long‑standing community tradition that celebrates creativity and innovation. Sponsorship includes visibility across event marketing\, media outreach\, social platforms\, and more while directly supporting FIU Interior Architecture students. \nFor sponsorship inquiries\, contact Maria G. Claverie at mgclaver@fiu.edu or 305-348-1805. \nLearn more and purchase tickets: www.festivalofthetrees.fiu.edu
