Join award-winning landscape architect, Carlos Somoza, on a journey through subtropical gardens and contemporary landscapes. The evening’s conversation will touch upon the studio’s philosophy to sustainable planting design and the essential design principles behind the studio’s noteworthy gardens. Color, form, and texture will be discussed along with the basic culture, habit and architectural characteristics of exotic and native plant palettes. A plant species list of the studio’s favorite planting combinations for Zone 10 and a list of local nursery resources for plant materials will be available to students.
