Beatriz del Cueto, a licensed Conservation Architect, holds a PhD in Architecture, Building, Urbanism, and Landscape from the Universidad Polit├ęcnica de Valencia, Spain. She is a founding partner of Pantel, del Cueto & Associates, LLC in Puerto Rico, a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, the American Academy in Rome, and the James Marston Fitch Foundation. As an active professional, she continues researching and specifying compatible materials and conservation methods for historic structures.

Discover the fascinating story of how an American construction firm introduced to Cuba the use of American methods and materials at the beginning of the 20th century.

Amongst their best-known projects are Havana’s Capitol building, the Hotel Nacional, the Banco Nacional, the Centro Gallego and Centro Asturiano, and other landmark structures.
