CKLDP Session 6: Research and Data

March 10

12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Description

This session will explore how research and data can advance our role as leaders in our discipline. Before we start our professional careers, we all start as students, where we spend what seems like endless hours researching and fi nding ourselves as designers. This process of discovery and research is the backbone of the architectural profession yet for most of us, we abandon it when we leave school. Why is this connection severed? More importantly, how do we rekindle that connection? Today’s session aims to rekindle the research spark in the scholars, through presentations about current emerging technologies and practices presented by a wide range of practitioners, researchers, and educators. If we are not pushing the boundaries of research and data, we are failing as leaders within the profession. Today’s session aims to rekindle the research spark in the scholars, show them how to conduct research and properly utilize the data from it, and to illustrate the benefits it can bring to the profession.
