But did you know that during the 1912 Olympics, the International Olympic Committee developed Olympic medals for the arts, including architecture? From 1912 through 1952 Olympic medals were bestowed for various fine arts mediums including sports-related architecture. Following some controversy on the merit of selection of the winners, the category was formally moved to an exhibition format.
