Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH) is a nationally recognized magnet school with a rigorous, design-centered curriculum and strong ties to Miami’s professional creative community. The architecture program emphasizes technical proficiency, innovation, sustainability, and realworld problem solving.
Position Overview
The Architecture Teacher will lead the 10th – 12th grade architecture curriculum, teaching foundational and advanced courses in design, drafting, model-making, sustainability, digital tools, and portfolio and resume development. The ideal candidate brings strong design skills, professional experience, and a passion for guiding motivated, arts-focused students.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach architecture courses aligned with DASH and district goals.
- Provide instruction in architectural drawing, model construction, and design process.
- Integrate professional practices and contemporary design issues into project-based learning.
- Mentor students in producing professional-quality portfolios.
- Maintain and develop new relationships with Undergraduate programs in design and architecture. • Maintain relationships with alumni and other professionals in the community.
- Maintain a safe, creative studio environment and provide consistent, constructive feedback.
- Support exhibitions, critiques, competitions, field trips, and community partnerships.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and required professional development. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field; Florida teacher certification or eligibility required.
- Strong communication, organization, and mentoring skills.
